So Whatsup guys, In this article I am going to tell you about Linux, I mean How to run Windows Software i.e., exe file on Linux So Lets Begin… 🙂

How to Run Windows Software on Linux

So AT First you will need 3 Things..

  1. A Linux based Computer
  2. A Terminal
  3. Good Internet Connection
  4. and a Mind 🙂

Step1. Open your Terminal

First of all check weather, you are using a 32-bit system or 64 bit
if it is 64 bit then convert it to 32 bit…

If your system is 64 bit, enable 32-bit architecture (if you haven’t already):

sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386

Step 2. Download and add the repository key:

wget -O - https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/winehq.key | sudo apt-key add -

Step 3. Add the repository:

For this version:Use this command:
Ubuntu 20.04sudo add-apt-repository ‘deb https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/ focal main’
Ubuntu 19.10sudo add-apt-repository ‘deb https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/ eoan main’
Ubuntu 18.04Linux Mint 19.xsudo add-apt-repository ‘deb https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/ bionic main’
Ubuntu 16.04Linux Mint 18.xsudo add-apt-repository ‘deb https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu/ xenial main’
Add the respiratory

Step 4. Update packages:

sudo apt update

Step 5.Then install one of the following packages:

Stable branchsudo apt install –install-recommends winehq-stable
Development branchsudo apt install –install-recommends winehq-devel
Staging branchsudo apt install –install-recommends winehq-staging
install one of the following packages

If apt complains about missing dependencies, install them, then repeat the last two steps (update and install). See the FAQ entry on dependency errors for tips on troubleshooting dependency issues.

How to Install without Internet Connection

To install WineHQ on Debian Based Linux devices without Internet connection. You must need internet on the Second Ubuntu device to download the Wine .deb package and its dependencies.

Step 1. On the machine with the internet, add the WineHQ repository and run the apt update as described above.

Step 2. Next, cache just the packages necessary for installing wine, without extracting them:

sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get --download-only install winehq-devel
sudo apt-get --download-only dist-upgrade

Step 3. Copy all of the .deb files in /var/cache/apt/archives to a USB stick:

cp -R /var/cache/apt/archives/ /media/usb-drive/deb-pkgs/

Step 4. Finally, on the machine without internet, install all of the packages from the flash drive:

cd /media/usb-drive/deb-pkgs
sudo dpkg -i *.deb

The Same instruction can also be used to install offline of the `winehq-staging` packages.
